1. Tell us a little about yourself and the journey that led you to create UnSpoken Memories. Was there a moment or experience that made you realize this was something families needed?

I created UnSpoken Memories one day after realizing that by raising adopted and foster children, they needed more from me than monetary gifts. I wanted to leave something more valuable. I wanted to leave encouragement, advice, support, and answers to questions they might have long after I am gone.

Growing up, I was raised with the belief that girls should be “seen and not heard”, which made difficult conversations challenging. I realized there were many things I wanted my family to know but might never say. That realization inspired our memory box, our digital legacy solution that allows people to preserve messages, wisdom, and personal stories so loved ones can hear their voice and receive guidance when it matters most. It gave me the space to create messages with intention.

2. Most people think of estate planning as legal documents and financial decisions. Why do you believe preserving stories, memories, and personal values is just as important?

We believe protecting assets is important, but preserving memories is equally critical. Estate plans protect what we leave behind, but preserved stories, memories, and personal messages help future generations understand why those things mattered. They provide context, identity, and a sense of belonging that no legal document can capture. Those are the things that truly connect generations.

According to a 2026 Trust & Will survey, 41% of Americans said that memories and relationships will be the most meaningful part of the legacy they leave behind, ranking higher than financial assets or property. That statistic reinforces what we have always believed at UnSpoken Memories: while legal documents determine where our assets go, our stories determine who we are.

At UnSpoken Memories, our mission is to ensure that families inherit more than possessions. We want them to inherit wisdom, love, guidance, and the authentic stories that define a person's life. When we preserve our voices and experiences, we create a legacy that continues to inspire, teach, and connect long after we are gone.

3. What drew you to LIVE? When you first learned about the organization, what made you think, "I want to be part of this"?

What immediately attracted me to LIVE was its commitment to making estate planning a priority for everyday families, regardless of the fight ahead.  Too many people believe estate planning is reserved for the wealthy, when every family deserves the opportunity to protect their future. I saw a natural alignment between LIVE and UnSpoken Memories. LIVE helps families organize their assets, wishes, and legal affairs, while we preserve the human side of legacy. Together, we're creating a more complete approach to legacy planning, helping families prepare not only financially, but emotionally, for the future.

4. At its core, LIVE is working to make estate planning more accessible and meaningful for more people. How does UnSpoken Memories help families think differently about legacy and what they leave behind?

Traditionally, legacy has been measured by wealth, property, and financial success. At UnSpoken Memories, we encourage people to think differently. We ask a simple question: "What do you want your loved ones to hear from you when you're no longer here?" That question transforms the conversation. Legacy becomes about sharing wisdom, preserving family history, expressing gratitude, documenting traditions, and providing comfort during future milestones. We believe our Memory Box is the missing piece to estate planning. It addresses many of the concerns surrounding digital end-of-life planning by ensuring personal wishes and memories are preserved responsibly. Legacy becomes less about what we leave behind and more about what we continue to give after we are gone

5. If you could sit down with policymakers for five minutes and help them understand why estate planning matters to everyday families, what would you want them to know?

If I had five minutes with policymakers, I would stress that estate planning is not a luxury reserved for the wealthy, but a critical family protection tool that helps everyday families protect the people they love. Without proper planning, families can face financial hardship, legal complications, and unnecessary stress during difficult times. However, planning should extend beyond assets and legal documents. Families need secure, trustworthy ways to preserve their personal histories and final messages beyond traditional estate planning. While wills, trusts, and beneficiary designations are essential, they only address what happens to a person's assets. They do not preserve a person's voice, values, life lessons, or the stories that define who they are.

The desire to preserve a personal legacy already exists. The reality is that people are already using technology to leave their stories. What families need now are secure, trusted, and purpose-built solutions that ensure those memories are protected, managed responsibly, and delivered according to their wishes.  Our Memory Box addresses growing concerns around digital end-of-life planning by providing a structured way to preserve and deliver meaningful content to loved ones.
